Upcoming office moves in Wilmington indicate growing workforces for two companies involved in the health care industry.
The local pediatric services office of BAYADA Home Health Care, a company that has locations throughout the U.S. and overseas, is moving by the end of July from Unit 201 at 219 Station Road to the Millennium Building at 3205 Randall Parkway, said director Jaime Winfield.
The company’s Wilmington habilitation and assisted care state program offices are already located there, Winfield said.
“We’re actually all going to be in the same hallway,” she said. “We’ll have everybody in the same place.”
Winfield said the move will also double the pediatric services office’s space. She said the pediatric services office, which has been on Station Road for six years, has 11 office employees and 111 registered nurses and licensed practical nurses who work in the field.
“We’re constantly hiring,” Winfield said.
She said she thinks the Randall Parkway space will also be easier for clients and employees from a traffic standpoint.
“It seems like the traffic patterns around here are getting more and more difficult,” Winfield said of the area around Military Cutoff and Station roads.
Prestige Scientific, a firm based in Milford, Massachusetts, that conducts executive searches for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies nationwide, is moving its Wilmington office from downtown to the space that will be vacated by BAYADA.
“We’ve outgrown our space here, and that’s going to afford us the opportunity to hire more staff,” Stephen Provost, managing partner of Prestige Scientific, said of the company’s current Port City office at 414 Chestnut St.
Barry Padgett and Nicholas Silivanch of Eastern Carolinas Commercial Real Estate represented Prestige in the lease, while Lindsey Hess and Paul Loukas of Cape Fear Commercial represented the owner of the Station Road office unit, Station Place LLC.
Prestige has four employees in Wilmington. Provost said the company expects to hire three more before the end of the year. “And then we’ll continue hiring throughout 2019,” he said.
Provost said he liked the fact that the 2,000-square-foot Station Road office is close to Mayfaire.
“I think when you look at Wilmington, the two most attractive areas to recruit people are downtown and near the Military Cutoff-Mayfaire area,” he said.
