Vin Wells

"Vin’s development leadership is reflected in a diverse portfolio of impactful projects"

Vin Wells, co-founder of Cape Fear Holdings, works alongside business partner Brian Eckel to lead the company’s three specialized divisions: Cape Fear Commercial, Cape Fear Development, and Cape Fear Construction. With deep expertise in site selection, entitlement, financial modeling, and project delivery, Vin plays a central role in shaping Cape Fear Development’s diverse portfolio across the Southeast.

With a sharp focus on mixed-use and multifamily development, Vin has been instrumental in Cape Fear Development’s growth—delivering over 3,700 residential units and more than 4 million square feet of commercial space, totaling $1.1 billion in completed projects. His leadership extends across Class-A office, industrial, self-storage, and grocery-anchored retail, positioning the firm as a trusted name in high-performing, community-driven development.

Vin’s development leadership is reflected in a diverse portfolio of impactful projects, including Autumn Hall—a 236-acre master-planned community in Wilmington—and the Proximity series: Proximity Watermark (248 units), Proximity New Bern (252 units), and Proximity Carolina Beach (250 units with 25,000 SF of retail). He also played a key role in the successful delivery of 25 Walgreens locations across the Southeast through a strategic partnership with GHK Development, as well as numerous Publix-anchored retail centers throughout the region.

In addition to his development responsibilities, Vin also serves as the Managing Broker of Cape Fear Commercial’s Property Management Division, with a portfolio exceeding 4 million square feet. He also collaborates closely with leasing and construction teams to support build-to-suit initiatives and long-term asset performance.

A Wilmington native, Vin remains actively involved in his community, serving as a member of the Cape Fear Council Boy Scouts of America and participating in the Wilmington Regional Association of REALTORS
